”I love romantic comedies but they’re awful, aren’t they?”
Director and musician Elizabeth Sankey has been obsessed with romantic comedies since she was a kid. An obsession that has become increasingly problematic as her feminist awereness grows. For how do you actually relate to a genre that is notoriously known for reproducing sexist stereotypes? Sankey embarks on a deep analysis of everything from When Harry met Sally to La La Land, administering lots of well-deserved jabs, but above all a fervent declaration of love for a genre we love to hate.
